Paul Sant
Managing Partner
“An ordinary person's first encounter with family law is often daunting, stressful and emotional. Over time, it has become clear to me that clients who are confident in the legal advice they have obtained, find their experience of family law proceedings easier to comprehend and accept.”
Paul is a Partner at Longton Legal and practices in the areas of Family Law, Property Law, Wills and Estates, Civil Litigation and Commercial law . Having been admitted to practice in NSW in 1980, Paul has been providing legal services to a range of clients across Sydney for the past 35 years. The quality of his services have been recognised time and time again, particularly in the establishment of his extensive and loyal clientele base.
Between December 1980 and February 1985 Paul worked as a solicitor, and quickly climbed the ranks to work as an Associate with Turner Freeman Lawyers in Sydney.
In February 1985 Paul left Turner Freeman to establish a legal practice in Western Sydney. Paul was one of the founding partners and principal of Cluff & Sant Solicitors at Westmead and Toongabbie for the next 28 years, where he maintained the largest Maltese client base in Sydney. Whilst in this role Paul acted for a range of clients varying from corporate entities seeking advice of large scale transactions, to individuals seeking specialised and personalised family law advice.
Between March 2014 and January 2016, Paul returned to and was appointed a Partner and The Practice Group Leader of the Property, Commercial, Estates and Family Law group with Turner Freeman Lawyers in Parramatta. There he mentored a specialised and experienced team of solicitors, associates and special counsel. Today, Paul's experience and expertise has significantly bolstered the depth of legal advice Longton Legal is now able to offer their clients.
Paul is a firm believer in providing clients with a portfolio of legal services, often spanning across multiple areas of law and culminating in succinct, comprehensive and strategic legal advice.
In a recent decision of the Supreme Court of New South Wales, (FC v SC [2022 ]NSWSC 1780) His honour described Mr Sant as "a highly experienced legal professional who was committed to his clients, expressed himself in considered language, understood the law well and had a detailed memory of his interactions with his clients and of his clients concerns .”
Paul's decades of experience have translated into an invaluable ability to devise creative, productive and effective legal solutions to a variety of legal issues.
Any reference to a "Partner" means an employee with sufficient seniority. Longton Legal is an incorporated legal practice and not a partnership.
